Veggie-Centric
Macrobiotic, Vegan, Vegetarian, Skinny B*tch, The Kind Diet
The Jist: There is always a place in the dietary community for the naturally clean eaters. Whether your focus is on nutritional bang for your buck, environmental sustainability, or you simply were never one for a meal that was once alive – these nutritional schools may be for you.
Pros: If it’s your thing, most find these diets to be nourishing, filling, and downright colorful. With a focus on fruits, vegetables, grains, breads, and starches – the starving veg-head is a gross misconception. Depending on your specifics, the occasional fish, dairy, and egg can be enjoyed to boost your health and variety.
Cons: Some people were born with a steak in their mouth, so this may never be quite enough for you. Others may find that lacking the animal proteins makes them feel weak and sluggish. These can also do a number on your insulin if you are a diabetic or have a metabolic syndrome, since these diets are largely based on foods that your body quickly converts to sugar.

The Jist: These popular plans bring you back to the basics by removing irritating and unhealthy foods from the diet to allow the body to repair and mend. In some plans, foods and food groups are added back over time to test your tolerance.
Pros: Simple and clean eating, allows the digestive system to re-flourish, and can highlight problem-foods.
Cons: Some of these diets can be far too limiting for some, or simply require too much time and effort for others.
